Taste of Lisbon

Lisbon is also known for its delicious cuisine and fine wines. The city is famous for its seafood, including grilled sardines, salt cod, and shrimp. Another local specialty is the pastel de nata, a custard tart that is a must-try for anyone visiting Lisbon.

Upon arriving in Lisbon, we immediately set out to find Pastéis de Belém, It is a famous pastry shop established in 1837, known for its delicious and authentic pastel de nata, a popular Portuguese egg custard tart, which is made with a crispy puff pastry shell and a creamy custard filling that is slightly caramelised on top. Pastéis de Belém is widely regarded as the birthplace of the pastel de nata, that has become a cultural icon in the country.

I was beyond thrilled when the kind lady handed me a warm, freshly baked pastel de nata. In a burst of excitement, I couldn't resist taking a bite right away, and before I knew it, the whole pastry was gone! Sadly, I didn't even have a chance to snap a photo of it. But trust me, it was worth savoring every single bite. The combination of the crispy pastry shell and the creamy, custardy filling was simply divine!

Lisbon, with its picturesque streets and colourful architecture, is a city made for strolling. We discovered hidden gems around every corner, from quaint shops selling handmade ceramics to colourful street art adorning the city's walls. And what better way to explore its charming corners than with a delicious snack in hand?

As we wandered through the city, we were surrounded by tempting array of local treats. The city is also home to numerous bars and cafes, where you can enjoy delicious Portuguese cuisine. Lisbon's food scene is impressive!

With Lisbon's endless array of delicious food and picturesque streets, Lisbon is a city that's meant to be explored on foot.

Once we've satisfied our hunger, we continued our walk through Lisbon's vibrant neighbourhoods.

One of the most fascinating aspects of Lisbon's culture is the abundance of street musicians who can be found performing on the city's streets and squares. These musicians are an essential part of the city's cultural heritage and add a unique charm to the streets of Lisbon. The street musicians of Lisbon are a diverse group, ranging from solo guitarists to full bands playing a variety of musical genres. You can find them playing in all corners of the city.

As the day drew to a close in Lisbon's picturesque square, we were treated to a breathtaking sunset that painted the sky in a glorious array of colours. We couldn't help but marvel at the sheer beauty of it all, and it was the perfect way to end our day.
